Busy day...(23AUG10)

It was busy, though not what we were expecting. CH Hurley had said he was coming to visit from BAF, but I got an email in the morning that said he wouldn't be able to make it. We did get to meet BG Phipps, who came to the chapel project site and took a good picture with SPC Houde. He asked us to keep a good eye on the progress, because of the great impact the completed chapel will have on morale.

This evening, Farid invited us to have a meal with him to break his fast. We spent almost two hours sitting with a few of the interpreters eating, asking questions, and watching TV broadcast from Ghazni City. They stuffed us full with rice and potates and bread (my wife buys this kind of bread in the states, back home it is called Na'an bread. Here, na'an means "food.") then desert of melon and chai from Jalalabad.
